The number of areas that can be treated at one time depends on your height and weight. However, there are some general rules of thumb:

Does laser-assisted body sculpting produce lasting results?

Yes! Adults do not create new fat cells. When a person gains weight, the fat cells expand. Our Micro Laser Body Sculpting procedure permanently removes fat cells. Should you gain weight in the future, most fat will be deposited in areas where the procedure was not performed.

How much fat can ResultsLipo Laser Body Sculpting remove?

Micro Laser Body Sculpting can remove up to 90% of the fat in a treated area. The percentage of fat removed depends on the amount of fat present, the fibrosity of the patient's fat (some patients have harder fat than others) and the aesthetic goal to be achieved. A good way to estimate your final results with Laser Body Sculpting is to pinch the area you want to have treated and feel how deeply the muscles are beneath the skin. Feeling the muscle is most easily done by contracting the muscle and rubbing your hands over the skin. The distance between the skin and the outside of the tensed muscle is the thickness of your fat layer. If you would be satisfied with a 50% reduction in the fat layer, you would be a good candidate and pleased with your Laser and Ultrasound Body Sculpting results.

Is there discomfort during the procedure?

During the procedure, most patients report very little to no discomfort. The tiny fiber-optic tube (size of angel hair pasta) is inserted through a small puncture in the skin, usually along a crease in the skin. Most patients report no visible scars long term. As the laser melts the fat, it also coagulates the loose ends of small blood vessels. Compression garments and natural healing does the rest of the work in contracting the treated area as well as the overlying skin. After the anesthesia has worn off, it only feels like the aches and pains you have after a good workout. The mild ache can be relieved with over-the-counter pain medications. Many of our patients even return to work immediately. Of course, we advise you to take it easy for a few days afterwards.

Can I drive myself home after the procedure?

Having a driver is recommended, since it allows us to give you additional medication to keep you comfortable and relaxed. If you are having 2 to 4 areas treated, please arrange for a driver or taxi to take you home. If you are having 5 or more areas treated, you must arrange for a family member or friend to take you home (taxis are not allowed).

What happens to the skin after Laser Body Sculpting removes the fat?

One of the wonderful benefits of our new Micro Laser Body Sculpting technique is that it leads to the formation of new collagen which promotes skin tightening. Immediately following the procedure the skin is loose for several hours. However, within 24 hours the skin's natural retraction and the body’s natural healing mechanisms allow the skin tone to return to nearly the same as it was prior to the procedure. Over the next 6 to 8 weeks, the skin retracts over the new contour and is usually tighter and more toned than before the procedure. For patients above age 60 or patients who have lost more than 100 pounds, complete retraction may not be possible. How will this affect my schedule after the procedure?

Immediately after your procedure you will walk out and be able to perform mild activities. Our remarkable Micro Laser Body Sculpting is far less impacting than traditional liposuction, which usually requires weeks of recovery and a possible overnight stay when performed with heavy anesthesia. But with ResultsLipo Micro Laser Body Sculpting, recovery is minimal since our techniques are far less invasive, we only numb the local area of skin and we use far smaller instruments. Although we encourage you to take it easy for a few days, most patients report little to no post-procedure pain and return to normal activities within a few days. Some even return to work the following day depending on the areas treated.

Will I be awake or under general anesthesia?

You will be wide awake because our remarkable new techniques are so minimally invasive that they only require simple local numbing of the skin, NOT heavy anesthesia. This translates into far faster recovery, less downtime and most importantly, the safest possible means of performing Laser Body Sculpting.

Does Laser Body Sculpting produce permanent results?

Yes. Our Micro Laser Body Sculpting immediately, safely and permanently removes fat. Fat cells that are removed by our Laser Body Sculpting do not grow back. Of course after it is done, the clock keeps ticking - no procedure can stop the aging process. Advancing age will produce the usual changes in the shape of the body associated with the aging process even after body sculpting. Nevertheless, the benefits of Body Sculpting will always be apparent.

What about Gynecomastia in men?

Some men suffer from abnormally large breasts, a condition known as gynecomastia. ResultsLipo Micro Laser Body Sculpting is a great solution to this concern. It not only permanently removes the fat, but is so minimally invasive that many of our patients return to work the next day.

Will I get fat in weird places after I have Body Sculpting?

No. It is a common but false myth that the fat removed by body sculpting grows back in other places after the procedure. The number of fat cells your body has was determined by the time you went through puberty. Once you become an adult, your body does not make any more fat cells.

What happens if I gain weight after Laser Body Sculpting?

If you gain weight after Laser Body Sculpting, you will gain it proportionally in areas that were treated. It is possible to gain weight again in the treated areas, but not to the same extent as prior to the procedure since a high percentage of the fat cells in that area have been permanently removed.

How much fat can I have removed with Laser Body Sculpting?

The only limits to the amount of fat removed is the amount of fat present and the aesthetic result to be achieved. A guideline in estimating how much fat you will have removed is to pinch the area you wish to have treated between your fingers and imagine a reduction of 50 to 90%. In some patients the reduction translates into a large amount of fat to be removed, while with others the volume reduction may be small, but with impressive results. The primary goal is to ensure the best look possible not “how much fat can we remove.”

Does Body Sculpting leave scars on my body?

The incisions made with our new micro body sculpting are tiny and placed as inconspicuously as possible. Since there are no stitches, there are usually no visible scars. The original incision marks on most patients are difficult to identify in 12 months and usually fade away with time.

How much bruising or swelling will I have?

Because ResultsLipo Micro Laser Body Sculpting technique causes far less tissue trauma and inflammation than traditional liposuction, bruising and swelling are minimized. Body Sculpting uses only small insertion points and does not require stitches, so our patients experience much less bruising and swelling than conventional liposuction techniques.

How long will it be until I see results?

Final results vary from patient to patient, by age, areas treated, the amount of fat removed and individual healing rates. Some patients see immediate results that keep getting even better. Others may experience minor swelling so that final results will only become apparent a few weeks later, even though large amounts of fat have been removed. As a general rule, young patients tend to heal quicker and have less discomfort, although final results often take longer because young patients retain fluid longer than older patients. Some areas, like the chin, show almost immediate improvement while other areas, such as the abdomen, take longer for final results. There is no way to precisely predict your healing speed or how quickly you will achieve your goal, although most patients enjoy 70-80% of their ultimate results within one to three months after their procedure, with the final outcome apparent at about six months.

Will Laser Body Sculpting help cellulite (cottage-cheese like dimpling) or sagging skin?

ResultsLipo new micro laser techniques can improve the appearance of cellulite and help to promote skin tightening. However the degree to which each patient will see improvement varies. Some patients enjoy remarkable reduction in their cellulite while others see little change. Because the amount of cellulite improvement cannot be predicted, Body Sculpting is not considered a treatment for cellulite. If you are over age 60 and have very little skin elasticity or have undergone a massive weight loss, your skin may have permanent wrinkling that looks somewhat like cellulite.

Can Body Sculpting still work if I am older or don't have much skin elasticity?

Yes, because ResultsLipo’s new techniques promote skin tightening. Many patients with poor skin elasticity enjoy excellent results with Laser and Ultrasound Body Sculpting and are very pleased with the amount of skin retraction.

How long after Laser Body Sculpting will the soreness or tenderness persist?

ResultsLipo’s technique is gentle, and because only local anesthesia is used you should recover quickly. Some patients go back to work the same day. The recovery period after Micro Laser Body Sculpting is similar to a good, hard workout. You will feel good the day of the procedure, but will most likely wake up with a bit of soreness the next day. You can take Ibuprofen or Tylenol if you like and recovery is aided by light exercise, like walking. We also provide a compression garment which can help to minimize discomfort and should be worn for the first three to four weeks. Some patients choose to wear the compression garment during exercise or strenuous activities (when skin is likely to jiggle) for a few months after the procedure.

How long before I can go back to work?

Many of our patients are able to return to work the next day, depending on the areas treated. All patients should be able to return to normal desk-type work within 2 days and although soreness and tenderness will limit the speed with which a patient can move about, patients should be reasonably comfortable while sitting at a desk or working at a computer.

How long until I can exercise?

Most patients can resume their routine exercising within a few days after the procedure. We recommend that patients start out by doing about 25% of their usual amount of exercise, then keep increasing the level as it is comfortable. If you run or enjoy vigorous aerobics, feel free to wear the compression garment we give you for 3 to 4 weeks or until your skin fully retracts.

How long will the bruising and swelling last?

The duration of bruising and swelling after your procedure should be very minimal but varies between patients. Some patients have almost no swelling or bruising while others may experience some for up to a week.

What if I don't heal evenly or I need more fat removed after my procedure?

The need for touch up work is rare, however if you heal unevenly or you feel that you would benefit from additional fat being removed, please return to our office for a follow up evaluation anytime 6 months or longer after your procedure. Remember, it is very common to be slightly lumpy and uneven for a few months after the procedure. The healing process takes 3 to 6 months and some people heal more slowly than average. If you heal with noticeable asymmetry that can be corrected with the removal of additional fat, we will be happy to take care of you.
